practical 3 in a test-tube

Practical 3 is fast approaching and so it is time for another short and sweet 'in a test-tube' post! 

During practical 3 you will learn how to:

• do some basic lab maths - such as dilutions 
• use a pipette
• use a spectrophotometer
• make a calibration curve 

You have two main activities:

Activity 1 BEFORE CLASS : Practise some simple number manipulations (such as amounts and concentrations)
You must do activity 1 BEFORE class, as well as the VITAL test...

Activity 2 IN CLASS : Create a calibration curve for known concentrations of glucose and then use this curve to find the concentration of a solution of unknown concentration

As always, have a good read through of your lab book before you come so that you know what you are doing....
